At Honeybees Preschool we are totally passionate about not exposing our little ones to toxic chemicals and one product we always seem to struggle with is the nappy change mat! Everything available in NZ seems to be made with vinyl and polyurethane foam, two of the worst offenders in terms of the harmful fumes they emit. Last time we shipped in a Naturepedic organic changing pad from the USA, but would love to know if anyone else has also done this research, and has any other ideas? One of our Honeybees girls has been doing a spot of modelling for Little Trelise - absolutely gorgeous!! :-) #littletrelise
At Honeybees we have some very special dads, and the children loved making them a delicious homemade BBQ rub for Fathers Day last week! They mixed together onion, garlic, chilli, salt, pepper and of course a generous dash of love! :-) Honeybees has 3 amazing new teachers in our dreamteam - Kim, Marandi and SoHee, come in and say hello soon! :-) www.honeybees.co.nz/team Honeybees was so lucky to have Michelle from Love the Little Things take stunning christmas portraits of our children last year - they are all absolutely beautiful! :-)
![]() The results from our parent survey are rolling in, and we're so happy to feel the love for Honeybees!! :-) "We just love the staff. You care so much for the children and it shows. Your food is amazing! You are FANTASTIC!!" "Honeybees has an absolutely different environment from what I've seen so far in Auckland's childcares. It feels like home in here!" "It seemed obvious to us from the day we visited Honeybees that the teachers are talented and committed to making early childhood education their career. This was a big difference to other daycare centres that we visited." "I love the natural products used and I love knowing my daughter will be nourished with real food." "I love the philosophy and cleanliness of the centre. All the staff are happy, positive people and I am grateful that my son is in their care while I am at work." "Friendly, warm teachers who are always very very patient and always smile. Chemical and toxin free toys, skincare products and toiletries. Healthy and balanced foods." We had all sorts of goings on here at Honeybees for Halloween last week!! There were wizards, princesses, devils, super-heros and even perfect little pumpkins...... and they were all super adorable! :-)
The children are very excited to be going on a special trip to the Zoo next week!! They have been working hard on their own zoo projects in preparation, and trying to figure out exactly where those leaves go.... :-)
We were so lucky today at Honeybees to have Cornflake the Clown from Cornflakes Magic World come to visit, and perform a magic show!! The children had so much fun, and wanted him to stay and live at Honeybees forever! :-)
Our Wheely Bug Bee winners popped in this week to pickup their prizes - luckily Bronte is just the right size to do lots of buzzing around, but little Zepplin has some growing to do first! :-)
A couple of the boys were very helpful in picking out our Wheely Bug Bee winners from the Baby Show competition yesterday! They took the job very seriously and made sure to pick right from the bottom of the box.......! So a big congratulations to Sarah & Dax Peter and Francesca Knox, hope your little ones enjoy buzzing around on them - we'll be in touch!! :-)
We've been celebrating lots of birthdays lately at HoneyBees - a huge Happy Birthday to Malek (3), Max & Oscar (3), Olivia (4), and Sebastien (3)!!
We just laugh when it rains at HoneyBees - with a pair of yellow gumboots and a red rain jacket we're ready for anything! We're so lucky that part of our outdoor area is undercover so the kids can still get some fresh air when Auckland turns on the tap!
