A special thank you (danke!) to our lovely friend!

20/12/2017

The team at Honeybees Preschool would like to say a big 'thank you' to our fantastic volunteer, Joana, who spent six weeks with us recently. Joana travelled over from Germany and spent time in our centre as part of her education studies.

Joana, it was so lovely to meet you! We are sure that you and the children will remember all of your happy times together!  We hope you enjoy your travels around Australia now, and all the best with your studies when you return home!

Be safe and happy this festive season everyone!

Bee community conscious...

24/11/2017

Here at Honeybees Preschool the children absolutely adore gardening and all things nature, so this week a few of our littlest bees popped down to the Community Garden on Wellesley Street to learn from and be inspired by a project much alike their own!

BOO!! Happy Halloween!

3/11/2017

It’s not too easy for our little honey bees to look scary, but boy were we shocked this week! 😯👻

Thanks to all of our fantastic families for their incredible Halloween efforts this week! 👏🎃

Loud Shirt Day!

30/10/2017

Last month at Honeybees the children had so much fun being creative and crafty, designing their own t-shirts for Loud Shirt Day.

Loud Shirt Day, organised by The Hearing House, helps give deaf and hearing impaired children all around New Zealand a voice, through donations towards cochlear implants :)

We are so inspired by our little bees and their incredible imaginations and budding artistic flair!

Happy Thursday from the Honeybees Hackers! 😂

Delizioso!

17/8/2017

Here at Honeybees the children are lucky to enjoy three delicious home cooked, healthy meals a day - morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

We take great pride in our nutritious menu and have a dedicated chef who uses only the most natural ingredients we can find – including free range eggs, chicken and pork; fresh fish; fresh fruits and vegetables; and gluten-free/organic ingredients wherever possible.

What a beautiful summer we've been having at Honeybees Preschool!!

Playing doctor!

14/12/2016

Raising the next generation of doctors, or maybe future actors for Shortland Street....? :-)

Passionate about organic products...

17/11/2016

At Honeybees Preschool we are totally passionate about not exposing our little ones to toxic chemicals and one product we always seem to struggle with is the nappy change mat! Everything available in NZ seems to be made with vinyl and polyurethane foam, two of the worst offenders in terms of the harmful fumes they emit. Last time we shipped in a Naturepedic organic changing pad from the USA, but would love to know if anyone else has also done this research, and has any other ideas? Happy fathers day!

10/9/2016

At Honeybees we have some very special dads, and the children loved making them a delicious homemade BBQ rub for Fathers Day last week! They mixed together onion, garlic, chilli, salt, pepper and of course a generous dash of love! :-)

Pencils of Promise...

14/6/2016

Honey Bees Preschool was both inspired and humbled by the work of Adam Braun and his organisation Pencils Of Promise when we saw him speaking at a conference last year. We are so lucky to live in New Zealand which has one of the highest standards of education in the world, and its easy to forget that so many children would love the chance simply to go to school. Pencils of Promise has so far built 353 schools in developing countries, and we are so happy to support them. Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world. :-)

Fast food side effects...

19/4/2016

ts reassuring to know that at Honeybees we have the philosophy that simpler is always better when it comes to food - all our meals are healthy and natural, unprocessed and cooked with love! :-)
The really interesting thing about this study is that the more food touches plastic and other processing equipment, the more harmful carcinogenic chemicals it accrues, that then build up in our bodies.
At Honeybees we only cook with stainless steel pots and pans, eat off bamboo and crockery, and store food in glass not plastic - one less thing to worry about for your little one!
